FAQ
About Proactives Research
What this site is, how the research is sourced, and how the editorial work connects to the platform and the Ride to Conquer Cancer.
What is Proactives Research?
The editorial and research arm of Proactives Health. It lives at proactives.organd publishes screening evidence, the founder's story behind the company, and the work of the Proactives team for the Ride to Conquer Cancer.
The product — the AI platform that organizes your medical records and helps you prepare for appointments — lives at proactives.ai.
Why does every claim cite a primary source?
Most health content on the web is rewritten without sources, or sources a single news article that rewrote a press release. Where Proactives Research makes an empirical claim, the citation points at the underlying paper, FDA filing, or guideline document directly. If you click it, you land on the actual evidence — not on a downstream summary.
That standard exists for two reasons. First, the founder's background is in statistics and risk (MSc, LSE); reasoning about health without source evidence is uncomfortable. Second, the platform itself is built on the same principle: every AI answer cites the exact page in the exact document it came from. The research and the product use the same standard for what counts as a real claim.
How do you decide what to publish here?
The bar is: does this help an informed patient ask a better question of their doctor? Population-level guidelines optimize for ten thousand patients; individuals need to know where those guidelines break down for their specific situation.
The current focus is early detection — screenings and biomarkers where a cheap test can catch something that would otherwise become catastrophic. See Early Detection.
Is anything on this site medical advice?
No. Proactives Research publishes educational content. Nothing here is a diagnostic service, medical device, prescription, or replacement for clinician judgment. Always discuss specific screening, biomarker, or treatment decisions with a qualified healthcare professional who knows your history.
What is the Ride to Conquer Cancer connection?
The founder was treated for cancer at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto. The same year Proactives was founded, the founder also founded a team for the Ride to Conquer Cancer — a 220km cycle ride raising money for Princess Margaret. Since 2022, the team has raised over $732,000[Princess Margaret] for research in immunotherapy, precision medicine, and early detection.
See RTCC Team for the team page, fundraising history, and how to ride or donate.
How is this funded?
Proactives Health (the company) underwrites the research publishing on this site. There are no sponsored posts, affiliate links, or pharmaceutical-industry funding. The Ride to Conquer Cancer fundraising goes directly to Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, not to Proactives.
